Staff Appreciation Week

Four Oaks Legal Services were delighted to recently run three legal advice surgeries for the staff at Moor Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield and its Sister hotel The George, Lichfield, as part of the hotel group’s Staff Appreciation Week.  moor-hall-1 moor-hall-2 moor-hall-3

Lorraine Kinnes, the group’s HR Manager launched the idea of a Staff Appreciation Week as a way of saying “Thank You” to their hard-working staff.  The week included staff having their cars washed by senior members of the team; a staff golf competition with the top prize being an extra days annual leave as well as our legal advice surgeries, where staff could come and talk to our experienced legal team at no cost to themselves.

Rebecca Head, Solicitor and Co-Director of Four Oaks Legal Services, said “We were delighted to visit the staff at Moor Hall and The George. People often have legal issues that they want to discuss but are put off by the perceived costs of seeing a Solicitor. People also struggle to find time in their busy lives to come and discuss those pressing matters. The legal advice surgeries that we offered meant that we went to them and there was no charge for the advice given”.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

On 30th September 2016, the teams at Four Oaks Legal Services and Four Oaks Financial Services took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

A number of staff either baked or “faked” cakes to provide treats to the visitors to the coffee morning.  A steady flow of visitors throughout the morning meant a grand total of £200 was raised for Macmillan.

As part of the coffee morning, a competition was held to find the best baker or “faker”.  It was a close competition with 3 entries tied in first place.  The winning entries all came from Four Oaks Financial Services and the winners were Financial Advisor David Jones with his cupcakes, Finance Administrator Annemarie Fraser with her imaginative ginger cake and finally Paraplanner Kate Jones produced a chocolate lovers dream with a chocolate finger and malteaser chocolate cake.  The visitors to the coffee morning also wrongly guessed that Annemarie and Kate’s entries were faked!  Definitely a fine compliment to the quality of your cakes ladies!

Four Oaks Legal Services would like to thank everyone who provided cakes to support the Coffee Morning and to those who visited and donated to test the cakes.  It was a hard job but someone had to do it!_mg_0206
