Since qualification as a Solicitor in 2004, I have specialised solely in wills, trusts and probate work. I have worked locally during my career, having previously worked for Pickerings Solicitors LLP in Tamworth, Keelys LLP in Lichfield and Hadens Solicitors in the West Midlands, building up a strong local reputation.
I am able to advise on all aspects of estate planning, including the preparation of wills, planning for inheritance tax and nursing home care fees. I also deal with issues surrounding capacity, such as the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection in circumstances where a person has lost capacity to deal with their own affairs.
I also deal with the administration of estates, whether straightforward or more complex involving business interests.
I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and also a MENCAP recommended solicitor who advises parents/carers of those with learning disabilities on the preparation of wills.
I am also a proud and enthusiastic Dementia Friends Champion, delivering Dementia Friends training through the Alzheimer’s Society programme, which is funded by the Department for Health England and the Cabinet Office, and which is aimed at making our communities more dementia friendly.
My personal belief is that legal services should be accessible and understandable. I offer home or hospital visits to enable the less mobile to access our services and I guarantee that you will receive advice to suit your circumstances, however complex, in an understandable way and without the jargon.
When I’m not helping clients with their legal matters, you will find me cycling with my clubs Tamworth RMCC and Daventry CC or walking my Greek rescue dog Thumbelina.
